When you're playing solo like I am, coordinating actions into awesome combos is very easy. However, when you're playing with others, it gets a bit more difficult because marine actions are chosen in secret. I've not played this game with anyone else so I'm not quite sure if discussion is allowed in-between rounds.
Phase 1: Choose Actions
- Blue - Intimidation (Support) - 11
- Yellow - Heroic Charge (Attack) - 18
- Black - Litany of Hate (Move+Activate) - 7B
Phase 2: Resolve Actions
1. Black - Litany of Hate (Move+Activate) - 7B
- Metraen will change facings and face right.
- "After resolving this card's actions, change the facing of up to 2 Space Marines (belonging to any combat team or teams) in the formation." Claudio will change facings and face to the right so he will no longer be flanked.
2. Blue - Intimidation (Support) - 11
- Deino will move up from 5 to 4, face the left, and Activate the Door, bringing the total number of Support Tokens on it to 2.
- "After resolving this card's actions, you may roll a die. Shuffle that many Genestealer cards (of your choice) engaged with your Space Marines into the smallest blip pile."
 |
| All 3 Genestealers from swarm L3 are removed from the swarm and put into the right Blip Pile. |
3. Yellow - Heroic Charge (Attack) - 18
 |
| Cue the slide trombone. |
|
|
- "Instead of attacking with Brother Claudio, you may slay up to 3 Genestealers within 1 range of him (ignoring facing). Then roll a die. If you roll a 0, Brother Claudio is slain." I remove 3 Genestealers from swarm R2 and then I roll the die and hope for the best.
 |
| Sigh of relief. |
Phase 3: Genestealers Attack
- Swarm R2 (Strength 1) attacks Claudio
 |
| Another sigh of relief. |
Phase 4: Event Phase
 |
| Well balls. |
|
This brings the blip piles back to what they were when we traveled to this location. That really sucks.
- The Door gets a Minor Spawn and a swarm of 1 appears at L3.
- There's no terrain card that matches the 3 orange bars so I ignore that one..
- The swarm at L3 has a tail symbol on its card, and the curved arrow signifies that the swarm flanks the Space Marine it is engaged with.
